Maca Hot Chocolate!!

Hey there!  It’s cold outside and I am luxuriating in my hot drinks.  I tried this one the other day and just LOVE it!  It’s earthy, it’s warm PLUS it contains adaptogens to ease any tension.

Ready to enjoy a warm yummy winter drink that’s also going to easy your stress, help balance your hormones AND kick up your libido??

Well, we are going to make Maca Hot Chocolate

Maca is one of my favorite superfoods.  It’s also named Peruvian ginseng and it gets that name because it is energizing, helps to balance hormones and is known for improving libido.  Let’s kick our hot chocolate up a notch by adding some in!  Between the wonderful effects of the maca and the antioxidant and mineralizing effect of the cocoa, your body is in for a real treat!

Maca Hot Chocolate

Servings 2 -3


4 Cups Unsweetened Coconut Milk

1 scoop Pure Paleo Vanilla Protein Powder

1/2 Cup Raw Cacao Powder

1 Tbs Maca Powder

1/4 Cup Honey (or maple syrup)

Pinch of Cinnamon


Add coconut milk, cacao, maca, protein powder, honey, and cinnamon to a blender and blend on high for about a minute. 

Then, add hot chocolate to a saucepan on the stove and bring to medium heat (avoid bringing it to a boil - high temperatures reduce the bioavailability of the nutrients in cacao and maca).

**Alternatively, you can use an immersion blender, heat the coconut milk only and add all of the ingredients in the blender container and blend with your immersion blender.

Serve hot chocolate in mugs with a sprinkle of cinnamon.
