Taking Supplements? You're Only Halfway There!!

I believe in taking quality supplements to patch in the nutritional gaps that we all suffer on a daily basis.  I've heard people comment that taking supplements just means you are "peeing" expensive urine.  Well, this doesn't have to be the case, but it can be true if your body isn't absorbing all of the good stuff you are putting in!!  

The biggest factor in whether or not your body is able to absorb all of the good stuff you are putting in is how healthy your gut is!!  Most people have an unhealthy gut.  Unfortunately, it's fairly easy for the digestive tract to become unbalanced.  Literally one dose of antibiotics, one infection, one "hit" of sugar or glyphosate combined with an overall stressed out system (which most of us have) is enough to completely screw up your intestines and create the perfect set up for leaky gut!

One of the most important supplements you can take on a daily basis is a probiotic.  You need a probiotic with LOTS of good bacteria types and BILLIONS of units of those bacteria.  I've been fairly picky over the years with the probiotics I recommend for my patients and family and I continue to research which ones are the most beneficial and do what they say.  

My all time favorite probiotic currently is called Just Thrive.  I like this one because it's been researched to show that the probiotics actually reach the large intestines where they work the best without exacerbating potential small intestine or stomach issues like SIBO.
